Fire Safety

Writer's picture: Troop 99 Troop 99

The theme for the April 8 troop meeting was fire safety, and in this demonstration the scouts learned how to use a fire extinguisher.

The most basic way to put out a fire is to suffocate it, so they explained how to cover it with dirt using a shovel.

Next, the scouts got to hold a fire extinguisher and learn how to use it with the PASS method:

  1. Pull

  2. Aim

  3. Squeeze

  4. Sweep
