Last night the scouts held their weekly troop meeting in the form of a field trip organized by Mr. Wood from the NH Dept of Environmental Services. The scouts had a hands-on experience with evaluating the water quality in the Piscataquog River in New Boston. The scouts learned how to draw a general conclusion about the health of the water in the river based on what kinds of insects and invertebrates they found. This activity is called a "benthic macroinvertabrate collection."
