As part of the topic of the month, Wilderness Survival, Troop 99 welcomed Christine from the Uncanoonuc Foraging Company. Christine talked to the troop about her favorite topic: Mushrooms! She provided a fascinating talk about local mushrooms right here in Goffstown and New Hampshire: with descriptions of several common ones, where to find them, how they grow and spread, and what they taste like. While most are available in the warmer
months, one of the varieties that can be found in the winter is the oyster mushroom.

Troop 99 only one week ago came back to in-person meetings after holding meetings virtually since December. This was a great way to have something productive to do in the winter while we wait for better weather to get out side. Thank you to the Uncanoonuc Foraging Company for this interesting and informative presentation!
